Innovation & Zukunft
Gföllner is investing in the expansion of its facility network and increasing its capacity with two new plants in Upper Austria - Ort im Innkreis and Hohenzell. In doing so, the company is laying the groundwork to sustainably support strong growth in the field of container technology while simultaneously creating new jobs in the region.
Growth in Container Technology
International demand for technical container solutions is growing steadily. This trend is driven by the expansion of data centers, increasing demands from AI applications, and investments in energy and network infrastructure. With these new locations, Gföllner is creating additional capacity to capitalize on these growth opportunities in the long term.
New Location in Ort im Innkreis
The new location in Ort im Innkreis will assume key responsibilities in the areas of logistics, assembly, and incoming goods inspection. In addition, it strengthens the international supply chain for the joint venture IGPS (INNIO Gfoellner Power Systems LLC) in the U.S.
Covering an area of approximately 10,000 m², the site will provide additional capacity for container technology. Completion is scheduled for September 2026. The first phase of expansion alone will create approximately 50 new jobs.
Hohenzell site already in operation
The Hohenzell site has been successfully in operation since April 2026 and is expanding capacities in the areas of material cutting, temporary storage, and materials management. The additional infrastructure increases efficiency along the entire value chain and lays the foundation for further growth.
Investment in the region’s future
With the two new sites, Gföllner is strengthening its competitiveness in an international growth industry while simultaneously sending a clear signal in support of Upper Austria as a business location. The investments create long-term prospects for employees as well as additional capacity for future projects.
