With the symbolic handover of the keys to the first two passenger and workshop vehicles (PWFZ) for the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB CFF FFS), the project has taken another important step forward. The vehicles were successfully assembled and prepared for transport to Switzerland, where the testing and commissioning phase is now beginning.
The PWFZ consists of a cabin assembly and a support car. While the cabin assembly was manufactured by Gföllner in Austria, TATRAVAGONKA Poprad in Slovakia supplies the support car. Both components were assembled at the Port of Linz and prepared for onward transport.
Once the testing and acceptance phase is complete, the vehicles will be used to transport personnel and equipment during maintenance and repair work on the SBB CFF FFS rail network.
The project comprises a total of 43 passenger and workshop vehicles, which are scheduled for delivery by 2029. Together with TATRAVAGONKA Poprad, Gföllner will present the vehicles this fall at InnoTrans in Berlin.
