Custom-Designed Technology for Rail Applications

Our mobile workshop and support units are consistently tailored to their respective applications. In doing so, we take into account rail-specific requirements for safety, ergonomics, indoor climate, escape routes, and technical support, as well as the requirements for passenger transport.

As application-oriented container solutions, they combine work, living, and technical areas into a robust, functional unit—designed for maintenance, repair, and emergency operations on the railways.

Our construction method in detail:

Module Structure

The foundation is a welded steel frame conforming to DIN EN 15085-2 (CL1), designed to withstand the dynamic stresses of rail operation. A key advantage of our design is the removable container hood: The hood and floor can be processed and outfitted simultaneously.

While lighting, climate control, and other systems are integrated into the hood for optimal accessibility, customer-specific equipment can be installed on the floor at the same time. Only then are the two units assembled.

Advantage: Parallel production, optimal accessibility, and maximum flexibility during integration, maintenance, and retrofitting.

Energy Supply

The integrated CESS system (Container Energy Storage System) provides battery energy storage for 8 to 12 hours of autonomy. Automatic charging is performed via the vehicle’s electrical system or external connections.

Advantage: Greater self-sufficiency and operational readiness—even when the vehicle is stationary or external infrastructure is unavailable.

Zones & Features

The containers can be configured in different zones—for example, as a workspace, staff module, or utility room. Typical equipment features:

  • Sanitary unit with a dry toilet and fresh water tank
  • Emergency exits and escape routes, as well as safety lighting
  • Air conditioning, fresh air supply, and optional positive pressure
  • Ergonomic workstations, workbenches, and storage systems
  • Integrated crane and loading crane systems from Gföllner
  • CESS system (Container Energy Supply System) for autonomous battery-powered electricity supply

Advantage: Functionality, ergonomics, and technical equipment from a single comprehensive concept—customized to the mission, personnel, and workflows.

Material Protection

For long-term use in the rail sector, we tailor surfaces and protective systems specifically to the respective environmental conditions. Anti-graffiti coatings, anti-vandalism designs, UV-resistant exterior paint finishes, and impact-resistant glazing reliably protect the unit from weather and mechanical stress.

Advantage: Durable surface protection for demanding rail and outdoor applications.
